Marie J. Waldinger was born April 8, 1937 in Erie and died Thursday, January 3, 2013 at her home in Waterford at the age of 75. She will long be remembered as a loving mother and grandma who loved to make candy and spend time with her family. She also enjoyed games of chance and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 285 in Waterford.

Marie married Richard L. Waldinger on November 26, 1954, and he died May 31, 1999. Together they had four children, all living in Waterford– Cindy Waldinger, Richard Waldinger and his wife Sue, Pam Smiley and her husband Robert, and David Waldinger and his friend Dianna; six grandchildren– Jason, Christina, Shawn, Daniel, Justin, and Melanie; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert N. and Florence Frost Smith, and two brothers and two sisters.

Marie’s family gathered for a private graveside service.
