Robert James “Boog” McClelland III, age 17, resident of Union City, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Born in Union City on September 28, 1995, he is the son of Robert James McClelland Jr. of Union City, and Bonita J. Carrier of Cambridge Springs.

McClelland, Robert James Bobby attended Union City schools and was currently a junior at Union City High School. He has been active with Union City Bears athletics for several years playing on the football, baseball, and wrestling teams. Bobby was gifted with creativity and enjoyed art, freehand drawing, and taking woodshop classes at school. He loved children and was a certified babysitter.

Bobby was preceded in death by his uncle Brian McClelland, and is survived by his father and mother; three siblings– Kimberly McClelland of Oil City, Heather McClelland of Union City, and Cody McClelland of Cambridge Springs; grandmother, Gale Carrier and Franklin East Jr. of Union City; grandfather, Dave Sherman of Spartansburg; grandmother, Debra Greenawalt and husband Mark of Union City; and grandfather, Robert J. McClelland Sr., also of Union City. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours and funeral services will be at the First United Methodist Church, 42 East High Street, Union City, on Monday morning starting at 9:00 a.m. and ending with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Daryl Myer of Hope Junction Community Church in Union City. Private burial will be in Greenfield Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Bobby’s name and will be collected by the Van Matre Funeral Home of Waterford.
