Vern Delbert Edminster, age 66, resident of the Crawford County Care Center in Saegertown, PA for the past 13 years and formerly of Richmond Twp., Crawford County, passed away at Meadville Medical Center, Meadville, PA on March 8, 2013. He had been in failing health. Born on July 16, 1946 in Meadville, PA, Vern was a son of the late William Edminster and Mary Hutson Edminister.
Vern attended the Townville Schools and was employed by Vallonia Industries in Meadville for many years. He enjoyed conversing with people and made friends easily. He had an amazing memory for their names and special dates – never forgetting a loved one’s birthday. Vern enjoyed country and gospel music and was a volunteer at Crawford County Care Center doing whatever any one would ask.
Vern is survived by two sisters – Margaret Greathouse and her husband, Edgar of Saegertown and Barbara Merriam and her husband, James of Friendship, NY; two brothers – Lowell Edminster and his wife, Lois of Cambridge Springs and Theodore Edminster and his wife, Olive of Vineland, NJ. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Private interment will take place in New Richmond Cemetery on Monday morning. Private memorial services will be held in the Spring.
