Martha J. Doolittle, age 79, resident of Erie, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Saint Vincent Health Center. Born August 26, 1933 in Wattsburg, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Florence Dennis Allen. She married Wayne Doolittle in 1953 and he survives.

Doolittle, Martha J.Mrs. Doolittle was a homemaker and a wonderful cook. She loved dogs and enjoyed music and playing the piano. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Waterford where she participated in the bell choir and chancel choir. She was a former member of the Stancliff Hose Ladies Auxiliary.

In addition to her husband, Wayne, her family includes a son, James Doolittle and his wife Nancy of Summit Township; a daughter, Joyce McAninch of Erie; three grandchildren– Julie and Erin McAninch, and Ashley Doolittle; a brother, Arthur Allen and his wife Jane of Wattsburg; and her sister-in-law, Phyllis Russell and her husband Chet of Waterford.

A memorial service will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, West Second Street, Waterford, on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Gary Donaldson will officiate. Burial will be private in Waterford Cemetery.
