John Kovschak, age 92, resident of 13381 Edinboro Plank Road, Waterford, PA, passed away at Edinboro Manor, Edinboro, PA on Thursday, June 20, 2013 following a short illness. Born in Peck, MI on November 10, 1920, John was a son of the late Antoin Kovschak and Anna Kovik Kovschak. He married the former Katherine Kerecman on December 18, 1947 and she preceded him in death on May 23, 2000.
John was a veteran of the US Army serving his country from October of 1942 until being honorably discharged on October of 1945. After the war he returned to the family farm where he remained active in dairy farming until 1985. Always a hard worker, John enjoyed hunting.
Surviving John are six children – John Kovschak and his wife, Debbie of Albion; Edward Kovschak and his wife, Robyn of Waterford; David Kovschak of Waterford; Susan Bowers and her husband, Fred of Edinboro; James Kovschak of Waterford and William Kovschak and his wife, Debbie of Waterford. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
There is no public visitation being scheduled and private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Reverend Dennis Hendershot, pastor of Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Crossingville will officiate with burial to be made in the Church Cemetery.
