Donald R. Chrzanowski, age 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Edinboro, surrounded by his family on Saturday, July 20, 2013.
Don was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather to his loving family. In all of his life?????s work he showed devotion and ethical behavior, and he really loved life and put family and friends before himself. Don enjoyed his favorite social activities most when he was with family and his closest friends. He treasured his annual hunting and fishing trips with his sons. Additionally, he enjoyed golfing, boating, snowmobiling, bowling and playing cards. He was enthusiastic about dancing, especially a good Polka, and he cooked a mean pierogi.
While growing up in Erie, Don was on the track team at Erie Tech and continued to enjoy running with his brother. He was a graduate of Gannon University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. Throughout his career he worked at Finish Engineering, Hanley Postal Supply, was Executive Vice President at Penn Union, and was currently the owner of X-Act Technology in Erie. Additionally, Don served on the Board of Directors for the Manufacturer?????s Association for 6 years and was an active member at St. George?????s Catholic Church, as well as serving on the St. George School Board.
Don was preceded in death by Barbara Majchrowski Chrzanowski, his first wife of 38 years; his parents, Anthony and Henrietta Chrzanowski; and his brother Anthony.
Survivors include his loving wife, Marty Deeter Chrzanowski; his son Donald, his wife Laura and their children Adam and Elysha of Erie; his son John, his wife Marikae and their children Evan and Nick of Strongsville, OH; and his son Scott, his wife Jean and their children Kayla and Marcus of Edinburgh, OH. Also, his stepdaughter Amy Berger, her husband Brent and children Zane, PJ and Teige of Edinboro; his mother-in-law, Helen Majchrowski; his sister-in-law Sylvia Chrzanowski; nephews Mark and David, as well as his trusted and helpful friend Tom White.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 306 Erie Street, Edinboro on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be at McLane Church on Thursday, July 25 at 12:00 noon and will be officiated by Rev. Brian Kelly. Interment will be private in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Erie.
Memorials are requested to be given to Our Lady of the Lake Church, 128 Sunset Drive, Edinboro, PA 16412 or McLane Church, 12511 Edinboro Road, Edinboro.

Your father, my Uncle will be greatly missed. So sad for such a great man to be taken so quick. I will always remember him and you all.
Ms Marty… Glad you had the years you did with Don. He was a blessing to us all and i know he brought you great happiness during your time together.

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Don at Hanley Postal. We worked in the office side by side. He was always so willing to help and listen to new ideas and suggestions. He made work fun. I know he will be missed by all who knew him.
