James Paul Delfft, age 69, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was born December 28, 1943 to the late Leon Delfft and Thora Miller Delfft Funciello. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter Erika.

Jim graduated from Fort LeBoeuf High School in 1962. He retired from Summit Township after 19 years of service. He was an active member of Fort LeBoeuf American Legion Post 285 and had been adjutant for 15 years. He enjoyed fishing and taking care of his lawn.

Survivors include his step-father Frank Funciello; his wife Judy McWilliams Delfft; three daughters– Wendy (Todd) Landis and Renee (Larry) Robertson, both of Waterford, and Karen (Mark) Oatman of Overland Park, Kansas; six grandchildren– Todd (Kara) Landis, Jared (Kori) Landis, Devon Landis and companion Steve Nero, Christopher and Rachel Oatman, and Zachary Robertson; great-grandchildren– Carson, Colton and Cyler Landis, and twin girls due in September. He is further survived by his brother, Albert (Carol) Delfft and numerous family and friends.

As per Jim’s wishes, no calling hours will be observed. A private memorial will take place for the family. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
