Dear Susan and Family –
While looking something up online today, I came across your father’s obituary in the Meadville Tribune. While it’s been more than a year and half since your Dad’s passing, I still want to offer my condolences. I lost my Mom three years ago and, at least once a week, I think of something I want to ask or say to her.
Your parents were always very kind to me, when we were dating. And I always felt welcome during our visits to your home in Cambridge Springs. I recall the first time I visited your family home, your dad said, “Why are you coming in our backdoor? Welcome to our backwards home.” Do I remember right that your home was moved and then put down backwards on its new foundation? It’s funny the things you remember.
Your Dad invited me to golf with him once at Riverside. After just a few holes, he said to me, “You know young man, not everyone is meant to golf.” I should have taken his advice. I’m still a lousy golfer.
Again, I am very sorry for your loss.
