William M. Cornell, 66, of Mill Village, died of natural causes on Sunday morning, October 6, 2013 at his home. Born in Titusville on May 27, 1947, he was the son of the late Josephine Cornell Morris, and stepson of the late Edward Morris.
Bill served in the United States Navy from 1964 – 1968, and worked as a machinist at FMC Technologies in Wesleyville from 1979 until his retirement in June 2013. He enjoyed hunting and playing golf, and was a member of the American Legion Post 285 in Waterford and the Mill Village Cemetery Board. Bill was a dedicated family man and he loved spending time with his grandsons. He will be greatly missed.
Family members include his wife, Melody Carr Cornell, whom he married September 24, 1971; two sons– Randy Cornell and his wife Rosemarie, and Travis Cornell and his wife Christine; three grandsons– Tyler, Logan, and Jared; a brother Edward Morris and his wife Tammy; several aunts and uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and may attend the funeral service there on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Mill Village Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Mill Village Volunteer Fire Department or the Mill Village Cemetery Association.
