Kevin Dennis Saxton, age 62 of Waterford, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 after a period of failing health. He was the only child of the late Earl Saxton Jr. and Geraldine Mae White Saxton and was born in Erie on March 10, 1951.
Kevin was trained as an HVAC Technician and had worked for Millcreek Heating Inc. Previously he was employed by General Electric and also had owned the Alibi Bar in Wesleyville. After his health declined in 2007, Kevin was unable to work and enjoyed being at home with his grandchildren. He was a Minnesota Vikings fan, he enjoyed playing golf, and he was a loving and caring husband who will be greatly missed.
Family members include his wife, Cindy Dingle Saxton; his children– Andrea Lynn Saxton, Ronald North, Heather Allen and husband Matt, Brandie North, and Bryian “Bubba” North; his six grandchildren– Adrianna and Myiah LeRoy, Zackary and Montana Allen, and Gabrielle and Abigail Harmon; and many aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tonya Lynn Saxton.
Visiting hours will be at Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be there Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Rev. Duane Pinney of Washington Valley Christian Church.
My sincere sympathy to Kevin’s wife, Cindy, and to his family. Although Kevin was four years younger than me, I remember the great times we had when my neffews. Kevin, Ronald, Vicktor and my sister Patty would spend summers at their Grandpa’s farm. What fun we had playing games and enjoying the farm cooking that my Mother made for us. Those memories will never pass and Kevin will remain in our hearts forever. May God Bless Kevin and we know he is now in heaven with his Dad, June, and his Mom, Gerry. Love, Aunt Judy
