Richard Gerald Willey, age 71, died at his residence, 24401 Wilkie Road, Cambridge Springs, PA on Saturday, November 23, 2013 following a battle with cancer. Gerald was born on March 8, 1942 in the Brown Hill area, Rockdale Township and lived there all of his life. He was a son of the late Gerald L. Willey and Martha Jane Dean Willey. On August 23, 1974, he married the former Brenda Kay Boardman and she preceded him in death on April 25, 2010 and on June 6, 2012, he married the former, Sandra Baker and she survives.
Richard was a dairy farmer and pipe fitter from 1950 until 1960 and was employed by Norm Rabel Construction of Albion from 1960 until 1986. He then was an heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with family.
Surviving Richard in addition to his wife are 12 children – Lisha Araujo; Angel Starr and her husband, Thomas; Carl Cooper and his wife, Misty; Tina Ramsey; Candy Jones and her husband, Moe; Dianna Huffman and her husband, Scott; Trina Benzel; Richard Willey, Jr and his wife, Shannon; Rebecca Boylan; Patrick Boardman; Lynn Willey and his wife, Heather; and John Willey and his wife, Jennifer. Also surviving are two step-children – Scott Baker and his wife Kim; and Stacey Bienio. Additional survivors include 33 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Tuesday , November 26, 2013 from 7-9. On Wednesday, November 27 at 11:00 am, a funeral service will be held at the Brown Hill United Methodist Church with the Reverends Mary Stewart and David Acker officiating. Interment will be in Loomis Cemetery.
