LaVern Miles Hall, 79, Union City PA, passed away Monday morning, at UPMC Hamot in Erie, December 9, 2013 after a period of failing health. Born on Oct. 2, 1934, in Richmond Township, LaVern was a son of the late Lloyd Hall and Violet Hall.

LaVern worked for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad as a crane operator and then began his career as an over-the-road truck driver by purchasing his first truck in the mid 1960?s. Since that time he had driven for a number of trucking firms, including Union Drilling of Lincolnville until retiring in 1996. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling, and camping.

Surviving LaVern is his wife, Carol? Woolstrum Hall whom he married in 1976; his first wife, Shirley Hall; a daughter, Vernita Mason and her husband, John of Los Angeles, CA and their daughter, Jairlyn Mason of North Carolina and their son. Stuart Mason of San Diego, CA; LaVern?s oldest son Bruce Hall and his wife, Christine of Titusville and their daughter Shalean Hall and her daughter Sage; and their son Ryan Hall and his sons Miles and Logan; younger son Blaine Hall and his wife, Mary Ann of Guys Mills; younger daughter Roxanne and her husband, Nick Morganti of Carlsbad, CA and her daughter Tegan and her husband Marcus Lewis; and her son Kyle Yocina of Buffalo, NY. Also surviving is a stepson Brian Woolstrum and his wife, Jennifer of Pittsburgh, PA and their son Daniel and their daughter Lavender; two brothers ? Kenneth Hall and James Hall.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Wednesday, from 11:00 to 12:00 noon at which time a service will be held. Interment will be in Venango Cemetery.
