Vicky S. Schwab, age 56, of Corry, and formerly of Waterford, died Sunday, January 26, 2014 at UPMC Hamot due to injuries from an auto accident on January 9. The daughter of the late Bud and Martha Watts Robertson, she was born in Lumberton, NC on January 17, 1958.
For several years, Vicky was employed as a custodian at Fort LeBoeuf High School, but for the last 15 years, she team drove for USXpress with her best friend and companion, Jim Davis. Vicky loved driving and seeing all the 48 states with Jim, but she also loved to be home to spend time with her family– her daughter, grandkids, nieces and nephews. She always made it a priority to be involved with the activities of her family. Shopping, playing bingo, going to casinos, and visiting Las Vegas were some of her favorite things to do.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a nephew, PFC Garrett Conn, and two nieces, Antwanasia Robinson and Alesia Spain.
Family members include her daughter, Heidi Grimsley Bliley (Eric) of Waterford and their children, Macey and Ethan Bliley; her best friend, James Davis of Corry; his children, Missy Dyne (Sam) of Spartansburg, Sarah Davis of Corry, and Erika Davis of St. Clairsville, OH; his mother, Rosie Kent of Corry; and his four grandchildren, Haley, Sadie, Logan and Landon.
Vicky also has two sisters, Debbie Spain (Jimmy) of Erie, and Dale Post (Fran) of Waterford; and a brother, Michael Robertson (Sarah) also of Waterford. She loved her three nieces like daughters– Angela Proctor (Steve) and Heather Conn (Geoff), all of Waterford, and Randi Frost (Chris) of Seven Fields, PA; and also many more nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will take place there Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Rev. Emily Zeig-Lindsey of the First Presbyterian Church of Waterford. Burial will follow at Waterford Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to the family to help with medical expenses.
I was very sad to hear of Vicky’s passing. I am truley sorry for your loss. I will always remember how kind she was to me when i was a kid.
