Garth Charles Arthur, age 22, resident of 23961 Thornapple Drive, Cambridge Springs, PA passed away at his home of natural causes on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Born on November 25, 1991 in Meadville, PA, Garth was a son of Susan Marguerite Weaver Arthur and John R. Arthur.

Garth, a lifelong resident of Cambridge Springs, PA, was a 2013 graduate of Saegertown High School and was a participant of the Special Olympics. He was fond of music, being out doors, therapeutic horse back riding, watching birds, and fishing. Garth was a football, drag racing, motor cross and ice hockey fan, and was a Junior Erie Otter. Garth touched everyone he knew with his winning smile, sense of humor, and his determination. He taught us all that it’s not what we are, but who we are. He will be deeply missed by all.

In addition to his parents – John Arthur of Cambridge Springs and Susan Arthur of Meadville, Garth is survived by two brothers – Thomas R. Arthur and his wife, Tracey of Fleetwood, PA and Alex Shuman and his wife, Stacey of Chapmanville; two nephews – Tyler M. Arthur and Matthew Arthur Paulk; a niece – Alyssa Shuman; two uncles – Jeffrey Weaver and Robert Authur; two aunts – Karen Arthur Weaver and Donna Arthur Kryder. He is also survived by other relatives from his blended family.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Friday, February 21st, from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral services will be held there on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Harry S. Zurasky, Jr., pastor of the North Richmond United Methodist Church, officiating. Internment will be in North Richmond Cemetery.
