Laura L. “Herky” Culbertson, age 79, of 20393 Irish Road, Edinboro, PA went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 after a short illness. Born on January 4, 1935 in Mill Village, PA, Herky was a daughter of the late Mac McGinnett and Louise Kerr McGinnett.
Herky enjoyed knitting, bird watching, playing cards and board games. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who thoroughly enjoyed entertaining her family and friends.
Surviving Herky is her husband – Bill Culbertson, whom she married on November 26, 1966; her son – Edward Almazon; her son – Mark Almazon and his wife, Sandy; her daughter – Michaelann and her husband, Toney Wofford; her son – Paul Culbertson and his wife, Karen all of Edinboro, PA. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren – Dorian Biondo, Chip McKibbens, Brandon McKibbens and his wife, Klynn, Talon Almazon, Brittany Almazon, Calvin Culbertson, Wyatt Culbertson, Kara Culbertson, TJ Phillips, Tashonia Phillips, Donaven O’Dell, and Dinate Wofford; two great grandchildren – Devyn and Dylan. Also, a sister – Dorothy Thomas and her husband, Paul of Union City; two brothers – Clyde McGinnett and his wife, Rosie of Mill Village; and Melvin McGinnett and his wife, Sandy of Mill Village; a brother-in-law – Joe Amoroso of Corry. Also numerous nieces and nephews survive. Preceding Herky in death was an infant daughter – Audrey and a sister – Mae Amoroso.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Thursday, February 20th from 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend funeral services there on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Rob Willett, pastor of Mill Village Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Venango Cemetery.

Hadn’t seen her for a long time, but got to know her when Bill bought a silo and various equipment from us. She would insist on feeding us when working there. Haven’t seen Bill for way too long. Certainly sorry for your loss.
