Vera Irene Marzka, age 88, resident of 29730 Hogback Road, Cambridge Springs since 1946 passed away at her home on Sunday, February 23, 2014. Born on November 3, 2014 in Cambridge Township, Crawford County, PA, Vera was a daughter of the late Frank Anderson and Amy Wallis Anderson. She married George Marzka on June 12, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1985.

Marzka, Vera IreneMrs. Marzka was a crop surveyor for the US Department of Agriculture for over 15 years retiring in 1985. She along with her late husband operated the family dairy farm on Hogback Road for over 50 years and she continued to maintain her property until recently. Vera was a member of the Mill Village Presbyterian Church, was a 50 year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and enjoyed flower gardening.

Preceding Vera in death in addition to her husband, George Marzka, and her parents was a brother – Robert Anderson in 2013 and her son – Bob Marzka in 2009. Surviving Vera is a son – Allen Marzka and his wife, Rose of Cambridge Springs; a daughter -in law – Adrienna Marzka of Cambridge Springs; two step brothers – Homer Kerr of Cambridge Springs and Dr. Eugene Kline of Florida; and a step-sister – Della Marsh and her husband, William of Cambridge Springs. Also surviving are eight grandchildren – Andrew Marzka and his wife, Lisa of State College; Emily Nolan and her husband, Brett of Atlanta, GA; Megan Marzka and Kelley Marzka both of Charlotte, NC; Kyle Marzka and Lee Marzka both of Cambridge Springs; Tyler Marzka of Fort Pendleton, CA; and Kirsten Marzka of Cambridge Springs. Vera is further survived by two step grandchildren – Ron Riedel of Corry and Ryan Riedel and his wife, Corinne of Batavia, NY; and nine great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Tuesday, February 25th, from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral services will be held there on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Denny Lutz officiating. Interment will be in Mill Village Cemetery.
