Ralph C. Osborn, age 94, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Wesbury United Methodist Community in Meadville, Pa where he had resided and received excellent care for the past six years. He was born in Summit Township on January 26, 1920, son of the late Harold Osborn Sr. and Maybelle Aggers Osborn.

Osborn, Ralph C.Ralph and his late wife, Ethel Glass Osborn, had celebrated 62 years of marriage and had resided in Summit Township, Gloucester, Va, and Seneca, Pa. He farmed for many years before he became a truck driver for Western Express and Hammermill Paper Company. Ralph later became an independent truck driver for Worster Motor Lines. After their retirement, Ethel and Ralph travelled extensively and were able to visit many places across the United States in their camper.

Besides his wife, Ralph was preceded in death by a son, Richard L. Osborn, a granddaughter, Ramona Osborn, and a sister, Betty Bieble. Survivors include his son, Raymond R. Osborn and his wife Kathleen of Waterford; a daughter, Martha Phillips and her husband Rev. Paul Phillips of Chesapeake, Va; and a daughter-in-law, Susi Osborn of Houma, La. Also surviving are seven grandchildren– Brian Osborn of Pittsburgh, James Osborn and wife Wendie of Mercer, Pa, Chad Osborn of Chicago, Shawn Osborn and wife Angela of Pace, Fl, LeRoy Osborn and wife Misty of Houma, La, Ryan Phillips, and Kristian Phillips and wife Jessica of Chesapeake, Va; and seven great-grandchildren. He is further survived by two sisters, Myrtle Sill of Union City and Berdena Proctor of Jensen Beach, Fl; a brother, Harold Osborn Jr. and wife Ellen of Waterford; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held there Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Ralph’s son-in-law, Rev. Paul Phillips. Burial will be private at Erie County Memorial Gardens.
