Jacob Paul Williams, age 30, of Waterford, died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Saint Vincent Hospital after complications from brain surgery due to a brain abscess. Born in Erie on September 11, 1983, he was a son of Daniel K. and Sandra L. Widdowson Williams.

Williams, Jacob PaulPresently, Jacob was a student at Edinboro University working towards a master’s degree in counseling. He was an experienced EMT who was proud of his service volunteering with Stancliff Hose Company in Waterford. He also worked as an EMT with Emergycare, as a ER Tech at Saint Vincent Hospital, and as a Patient Care Assistant at UPMC Hamot. Jacob was a gentle person and a loving dad who loved his son very much. He also enjoyed sports and was a Pittsburgh Pirates fanatic, and a fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Buffalo Bills.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Danielle Lee Williams; and his grandparents, Ronald and Sennie Widdowson, and Raymond J. Williams.

Family members include his parents, Dan and Sandy Williams of Waterford; his son, Jamison Perry Williams; his brother, Joshua L. Williams of Erie; and his grandmother, Alice M. Williams of Erie. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; his god-mother, Glenda Meade of Harborcreek; his god-father, Daryl Williams of Waterford; and his girlfriend, Christine Pierce of Waterford.

Calling hours will be at the Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A prayer service will take place Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at All Saints Parish, 11264 Rt. 97 North, Waterford. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Thomas Whitman. Burial will be in Waterford Cemetery.
