Peter D. Pentycofe, age 73, resident of Waterford, PA died on Monday, May 19, 2014 at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio after an extended illness. Born on April 25, 1941 in Stockton, NY, Peter was a son of the late Elmer Pentycofe and Naomi Weilacher Pentycofe. Peter married the former Carole L. Bronakoski and they were to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 27, 2014.
Peter had previously worked at Lenny’s Radiator and also at Canfield Radiator both located in Erie. He was a self-employed mechanic specializing in classic car restoration, particularly building hot rods. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, drag racing, and riding his four-wheeler.
He was a hard working, faithful, and loving father and husband. Peter had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and cherished his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Carol, Peter is survived by a son – Gregory Pentycofe and his wife, Cynthia of Cambridge Springs, two daughters – Cheryl Ferry and her husband, Donnie of Springboro and Kim Erdely and her husband, Don of Cambridge Springs; and two grandchildren – Cody and Mandy. He was preceded in death by a son – Christopher Pentycofe, who died in 2009.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 and to funeral services there on Saturday, May 24th at 11:00 a.m. with John Shuttleworth, pastor of Brown Hill United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in LeBoeuf Cemetery, Mackey Hill.
