Donald “Donnie” George Reibel, age 50, entered the kingdom of heaven surrounded by family members on May 23, 2014, at his home on North Mosiertown Rd., Saegertown, PA. Don had bravely fought a six month battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on June 20, 1963 in Meadville, he is the son of Alfred C. Reibel, Sr. and the late Sylvia Jean Willis Reibel.
Graduating from Cambridge Springs High School with the class of 1981, he was a milk hauler for several companies in the area and then began work for over twenty-five years with Russell Standard, Corp. of Union City as a truck driver, equipment mover, and dispatcher. Don had served several terms as Cussewago Township Supervisor. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, restoring vintage tractors, and possessed a great sense of humor.
He was a loving and dedicated father to his two daughters, Amber C. Frazier and her husband Kyle of Union City, and Mackenzie D. Reibel of Saegertown. He is also survived by his father, Alfred C. Reibel of Saegertown; his brother Al Reibel and his wife Brenda of Cambridge Springs; his brother, Tim Reibel and his wife Debbie of Virginia Beach, VA; the mother of his daughters, Jeannine Reibel of Conneautville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Donnie was lovingly cared for by many family members and friends including his Aunt Fidelis Orr and her husband Ed; cousin, Jill Orr; sister-in-law, Brenda Reibel; and mother-in-law Elaine Schmidt. Preceding him in death was his mother – Sylvia Reibel in 2013; his paternal grandparents – George and Dorothea Reibel; and his maternal grandparents – Don and Vera Willis.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday, May 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Van Matre Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs and to funeral services there on Tuesday, May 27 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rod Beardsley of the First Baptist Church of Cambridge Springs and Rev. Father David Paulson pastor of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church of Cambridge Springs officiating. Interment will take place at St. James Cemetery, Crossingville.
Memorials may be contributed to a benefit to be held in Donnie’s honor on June 8 at West Mead No. 2 Fire Hall, Meadville from 12-5. We were so sorry to hear about your son and dad. With the Holiday weekend, we didn’t find out until today (Tuesday). We wish we could have come to visitation to extend our sympathy. Cherish the many happy memories you have and hold them close to your heart.
