Kyle Reed Waid of Waterford, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014. Born in Erie on March 10, 1999, Kyle was the son of Morris Walter Waid Jr. and Ocia June Reed Waid, and the brother of Megan E. Waid.
Kyle was a freshman student at Fort LeBoeuf High School where he earned good grades and took some advanced classes. He was a talented guitar player and studied music at the World of Music in Erie. Among his other interests, including playing soccer and street hockey, riding dirt bikes, and playing airsoft with his friends and cousin, Kyle really looked forward to hunting with his grandfather. He will be sorely missed.
In addition to his parents, Morris and Ocia Waid, and his sister, Megan Waid, all of Waterford, Kyle is survived by his grandparents– Ronald and Mary Reed of Meadville and Morris and Donna Waid of Saegertown; his maternal great-grandmother, Clara Clark of Titusville; a special great-aunt, Susan Kimmel of Meadville; aunts and uncles– Jon and Cheri Armitage of Cranberry Township, Heath and Robin DeWalt of Indianapolis, IN, and Helen Waid of Meadville; and three cousins– Kase Armitage, Ellie Armitage, and Adalee DeWalt. Kyle was also loved by many extended family members and friends.
The Waid and Reed families will receive friends at the Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place there Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. followed by the committal service and burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Meadville.
