Elaine M. Klie, age 70, resident of 13361 Edinboro Plank Road, Waterford, PA, passed away at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Born on May 18, 1944 in Cambridge Springs, PA, Elaine was a daughter of the late James H. Zimmer and Anabel Burger Zimmer. She married David L. Klie on July 19, 1963 and he remains as a survivor.
Elaine graduated from Edinboro High School in the Class of 1963 and following her marriage, she and her husband operated the family farm throughout their entire married life. She was a homemaker who provided a nurturing and supportive home life for her husband and children. Elaine enjoyed gardening, canning, and bird watching.
Surviving Elaine in addition to her loving husband, David, are two sons – Tony Klie and his wife, Vicki and their children – Dustin, Jamie, and Amber; and Rod Klie and his wife, Tina; and a daughter – Bonnie Staley, Jr. and her husband, Tom and their daughters – Brooke and Abbie all of Washington Valley. Also surviving are two brothers – Richard Zimmer and his wife, Ann of Erie and Gary Zimmer and his wife, Jane of Erie.
Friends are invite to visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs and to attend funeral services there on Saturday at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Reverend Duane Pinney, pastor of Washington Valley Church, officiating.
I had the pleasure of being one of Elaine’s nurses at the Cleveland Clinic on A81. She was a fantastic person and her family is as well. My deepest sympathy and condolences. I am greatful that I had the chance to meet her and her family.
