James A. Davis, age 71, passed away at his residence, 95 Route #97, Waterford, PA on Monday, November 10, 2014. He had been in failing health for several months. Born on October 15, 1943 in Crawford County, James was a son of the late Luther Davis and Leona Fields Davis. He lived all of his life in the Cambridge Springs and Waterford areas.
A veteran of the US Army, James served his country from 1961 until 1964 in Germany for three years during the German crisis. Following the war, James worked at Kaiser Aluminum for 25 years as a millwright and then was employed by the LeBoeuf School District as a bus driver. Afterwards, he was employed as a postman for the Waterford Post Office. He was baptized into the Baptist faith.
James is survived by three daughters ???? Cheri Greene, Michelle Davis, and Julie McWilliams; three grandsons ???? Justin Davis, Wade Greene, and Corey McWilliams; three granddaughters ???? Alyssa Carpenter, Alexis McWilliams, and Hannah McWilliams; four sisters ???? Linda Hammond and her husband, James; Patricia Slayton; Maxine Antoniak; and Becky Corey and her husband, Rick; two brothers ???? Charles Davis and his wife, Karen and Gary Davis and his wife, Mary; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, James is survived by longtime friend and first wife ???? Mady Davis. Preceding James in death in addition to his parents and grandparents was his second wife ???? Caroline Dies Davis; a sister ???? Jean Ball; two nieces ???? Debra Slayton and Leona Antoniak; a brother-in-law ???? James Slayton; and numerous aunts and uncles.
The family would like to acknowledge with grateful hearts the care that AseraCare Hospice gave James during his illness.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. and are invited to attend funeral services there on Thursday morning at 11:00. Interment will be in Venango Cemetery.

I am so sorry about the passing of uncle Jim. He will be missed by many. He had a smile that was one of a kind, and could brighten up any room!
