Dolores J. Ott Havern, age 95, resident of Waterford and formerly Erie, died Sunday, November 16, 2014. Born on August 20, 1919, she was one of 13 children of the late John Anthony Ott and Mary Ann Rosenstial Ott. Dolores was born and raised in McKean, PA and married Michael Havern in 1946. Together they raised their family living in Summit Township. While primarily a homemaker, she later worked as a secretary in Erie for an attorney and also at General Electric.
As Dolores grew older, she enjoyed puzzles and games, and sitting in her “nest” and watching the birds. She kept her sharp mind and her quick wit, and she was well loved by her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dolores was predeceased by ten siblings – John, Mary, Carl, Ralph, Robert, Adelaide, Joseph, William, and Edwin Ott, and Mary Elizabeth Smith. She is survived by her five children – Carol Bendig and husband John of Waterford, Martha Repko and husband Paul of Guys Mills, Michelle Boehm and husband Don of Waterford, John Havern and wife Pam of Erie, and Paul Havern and wife Stephanie of Waterford; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and two brothers – Jerome Ott of Florida and John Ott and his wife Dorothy of Erie.
A private graveside service will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Our prayers and condolences are with your family at this time of your loss.
I wish to express my sincere condolences at the passing of Aunt Delores. I had not seen her in a long time, and had heard she was quite Ill. The Otts and the Haverns are great families and that is due to the fact that they had great parents that raised their familiys well. Aunt Delores was a great mother that lived a long and productive life. May God richly bless her family both now and in the future.
Jim and Judy Ott
Paul and Stephanie my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
