Elsie Mae Sybrant Rusnok, age 91, formerly of Donation Road, Waterford, died Friday, November 14, 2014 at Saint Vincent Hospital. Born in Meadville on May 21, 1923, Elsie grew up in Townville and was raised by the Smith Family. She married Joseph Rusnok on October 23, 1948 and together they first resided in Townville until moving to Waterford in 1949 to raise their family. Elsie was a homemaker and lived at the same house until earlier this year.

Rusnok, Elsie Mae SybrantElsie enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she liked to attend yard sales and go out to lunch with her friends. She kept her mind alert over the years by completing word puzzles. Her memberships in the Waterford community included Asbury United Methodist Church and the Women’s Circle, the Golden Agers, and the Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph Rusnok in 2005, and her brothers and sisters. Survivors include a son, William Unger and his wife Nancy of Waterford, a daughter, Patricia Roberts of Cranesville, two grandchildren, Christopher Unger and Victoria Stagl and her husband Joe, and two great-grandchildren, Logan and Taylor. Others special to Elsie were her friends, Helen and Cheryl, her many neighbors, and her cat, Kitzy.

Visiting hours will be at Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford on Sunday, November 16th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be there Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Gary Donaldson. Burial will follow at Waterford Cemetery.
