Wayne Leroy Anchors, age 73, resident of Cambridge Springs, PA, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Meadville Medical Center, Meadville, PA after a period of failing health. Born on May 20, 1941 in Foxburg, PA, Wayne was a son of the late Warren Anchors and Genevieve Vyrvoss Anchors. He married the former Carol Cann on November 4, 1960 and she survives.
Wayne worked as a gear cutter for Oil Well Supply Company in Oil City and later for Zurn Industries in Erie retiring in 2006 as a master machinist for Ameri Drives International, Erie. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and doing yard work.
Surviving Wayne in addition to his wife, Carol, are three daughters – Sheri Stone and her husband, Ed of Reno, PA; Wendy Kalwa and her husband, David of Clayton, NC; and Julie Hart and her husband, Tim of Saegertown, PA; seven grandchildren – Jessica Wurster who made her home with her grandparents – Wayne and Carol, Emily Stone, Michael Stone, Jason Goreczny, Stephanie McGill and her husband, Rob, Katrina Martin and her husband Micah, and Danny Hart. Also surviving are four great grandchildren – Hailey Williams, Mason Disney, Eli McGill, and Brody Martin; a brother – Robert Anchors, and a sister – Effie Patten. Preceding Wayne in death was a daughter – Peggy Wurster in 2010 and a sister Charlotte Patten.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs, PA on Saturday, December 6th from 2-4 and 7-9, and to attend funeral services there on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Reverend David Hart will officiate. Interment will be in Cambridge Cemetery.
Wayne was so many great things at the same time. Most of all, he was really cool and loved his family.
