Ida June Dehner Griffith passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Millcreek Community Hospital. She was a daughter of the late John and Martha Bowen Dehner, born on July 11, 1935 in Fryburg, PA. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jeanne Root of Greencastle, PA.
June is survived by her husband, William “Hank” Griffith; two sons, Dale Confer (Cheri) of Cincinnati, OH and Rodger Confer (Jeannie) of Erie. She had three grandsons and two granddaughters, seven great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her brother, Paul Dehner (Lori) of Casa Grande, AZ, and her sister, Sandi Jones (Larry) of Waterford, PA.
June retired from General Electric after many years of employment. She was a member of RAGE (Retired Association of General Electric) and was a union steward. June was a very caring person who made her family her life. She will be remembered for always being happy and smiling, for loving her pets, and for her excellent cooking and potato salad.
Friends may visit at Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Dehner Cemetery in Fryburg, PA on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
Our deepest love and sympathy to my brother, Bill Griffith, and the entire family of my sister-in-law Ida June Dehner Griffith. Sure would be great to be able to be there, however, we are not able to make the trip.
So sorry for the family’s loss. I only met her once.She seemed like a nice lady.She was married to my uncle Bill. Sorry I can’t be there.
