Luella P. Schlosser, age 90, of Waterford, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014 in Bennington, VT where she resided to be near her close friend and caretaker, Robert Ruhl. Born in Duquesne, PA on March 20, 1924, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Anna Marie Stone Pearson.

Luella grew up in Duquesne and worked in Pittsburgh for a few years before moving to Waterford in 1946. She met her husband Deane Schlosser and the two were married on October 10, 1950. Luella was a devoted wife and companion for Deane and together they shared over 60 years of marriage until his death on February 25, 2011.

Luella was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Waterford since 1947, and for many years operated a Christmas tree farm. She worked at Griffin Manufacturing and also the Lawrence Hotel in Erie for 17 years.

Preceding Luella in death include her husband, L. Deane Schlosser, two half sisters, Mary Catherine McManus and Ellen Porfilio, and her sister, Anna Marie Pearson. Her family and friends include two nephews and a niece, Louis Williamson of Erie and Kyle Williamson and Kent Williamson, both of Girard; her close friend, Dr. Robert S. Ruhl and his wife Angelita and daughter Hannah, all of Wilmington, VT; and friends, Brice Miller, Pat and Joan Long, and many more from her church family.

Friends are invited to a funeral service at Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Emily Zeig-Lindsey from the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Waterford Cemetery.
