Thomas Lee Sell, age 75, of Union City, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, January 15, 2015. Born and raised in Duncansville, PA, he was born August 2, 1940, the son of the late Blair and Zelma Sell.
Tom was a truck driver who started his career at age 15 driving for his father’s logging and sawmill business in Duncansville, PA. He drove for many years until moving to the Union City area in the 1970’s when he established his own business, Thomas Sell Trucking. In 2005 he partnered with his son John, and in 2012 he partnered with his son Ernest in a new business, Raccoon Refuse. Tom loved driving truck and was recognized as “Trucker of the Month” in a 2004 edition of “Land Line” magazine.
Tom found many pleasures in life, especially riding his motorcycle, watching NASCAR, spending time at his home and woods, and eating chocolate ice cream.
Family members who preceded Tom in death include his third wife, Ruth Ellen Osmer Sell, whom he married May 9, 1987, and who died in 2006; and a brother, John Sell.
Surviving family include five children– John Sell and wife Amber, and their children Abigail, Maximus and Colten, all living in Corry; Ernest Sell and his daughters Isabell and Zaylee of Edinboro; Debbie Spinazzola and husband Dave, and their children Michael and Lindsey, all living in Duncansville, PA; Tommy Sell Jr. and wife April, and their children Tyler, Corey and Nathan, all in Duncansville; and Roy Sell in Texas. Also, three great-grandchildren and a sister, Marjorie Raupch and husband Stanley of Duncansville.
Visiting hours will be at Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be there on Monday at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Robert Weaver of the Union City First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Burton, OH.
My deepest sympathy to you all. I knew Tom for years at Thompson Maple Products in Corry when he would come in to pick up loads. He was a great guy and super to talk to. He will be missed by many. RIP

Sell family we are so very sorry for your loss Tom was a great neighbor and we will miss seeing him every day in the yard or outside always doing something ! Whether it was mowing or washing the big trucks 🙂 he was a busy guy 🙂 may he RIP and may god help you all through this difficult time.
