Norman Taylor, 74, passed away Saturday, January 3rd, 2015 at Karmanos Cancer Center, Detroit, Michigan. He is survived by his wife of 52 years- Karen A. Taylor; his loving daughters- Patty McNabb and husband Robert McNabb, Jr. of Lake City, and Barb Opatrny and husband Bill Opatrny of Cochranton; his loving grandchildren- Taylor McNabb, Paige McNabb and her fianc???e Kyle Potter, Nikki Opatrny, Justin Opatrny, and Jake Opatrny; brother- Frank Taylor and wife Jan Taylor of Union City; and niece Heidi Toth and her husband Chris Toth.

Taylor, NormanNorm was born in Erie on April 7, 1940 to Alice and Frank Taylor, Sr. In 1960, Norm graduated from Strong Vincent High School. He then served six years in Army reserve and worked 31 years for Penelec of Erie until he retired as a heavy equipment operator in 1995. In 1967, Norm and Karen moved to their country home in Waterford where they raised their daughters and grandchildren.

Norm was an avid outdoorsman who loved boating, hunting, fishing and his daily walks. He enjoyed spending time with friends at his getaway camp in Warren, the primitive zone as he called it, as well as his Little Camp in Waterford. Norm was a quiet man with a big heart. He loved spending time with his grandchildren creating in the wood shop and going to trout camp –he was very proud of each one of them.

Friends and family are invited to Norm?????s memorial service on Saturday, January 10th at Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut St., Waterford from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm with memorial service to immediately follow.
