Lois Mae Burdick, age 74, resident of 30279 Brown Road, Townville, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Hospice House, N. Wayland Road, Meadville where she had been for several days. Born in Rockdale Township, Crawford County on March 31, 1940, Lois was a daughter of the late Orin Brown and Hettie Dine Brown. She married Melvin Burdick on September 19, 1959 and he survives.
Living all her life in the Townville and Cambridge Springs areas and after graduating from Townville High School in 1959, Lois became a home maker. She sold Tupperware and was an Avon representative for several years and worked in the house keeping department at Beverly Health Care in Cambridge Springs for many years, retiring in 2003. Lois was a member of New Richmond United Methodist Church and enjoyed needlework.
Lois is survived, in addition to her husband, Melvin, by a daughter – Judy A. Burdick of Townville; two sons – Richard M. Burdick and his wife, Cheryl of Mt. Joy, PA; and Roger A, Burdick and his wife, Lisa of Saegertown. Additional survivors include six grandchildren – Melissa Burdick, Teresa Burdick, Michelle Burdick, Colten Burdick, Lexie Burdick, and Lucas Burdick; five great grandchildren – Brooke Walker, Mason Berk, Carter Walker, Cydney Smith, and Logan Tate; two brothers – Homer Brown and his wife, Paula of Pendleton, IN and Neil Brown and his wife, Kay of Meadville. Lois was preceded in death by Lorna Brown Armberger.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Saturday, February 21st and Sunday, February 22nd from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held there on Monday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Rootville Cemetery.
