A life well-lived was had by Lucille M. McLaughlin, age 94, of Mill Village, who died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Homestead Hearth Personal Care Home. She was born on April 29, 1920, in Bloomfield Township, Crawford County, the daughter of the late Roy Humes and Genevieve Jones.

McLaughlin, Lucille M.Lucille was a homemaker and member of the Waterford Eastern Star and the Mill Village Presbyterian Church. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. No visits were ever long enough for her. She liked to travel with family in her younger years, and with her friends at the Union City Senior Center as the years passed. She also enjoyed dancing with her friends at the Senior Center. Lucille loved to take her time to enjoy everything. Walking, sewing, needle work, cake decorating, yard work, and flower gardening, were just some of the hobbies she enjoyed. Lucille was blessed with wonderful neighbors and friends too! Visiting her was like taking a step back in time when people just sat and held wonderful conversation.

In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband John McLaughlin; an infant daughter Deana; her son John Robert (Bob) McLaughlin; an infant grandson Robby; a daughter-in-law Diania Shearer McLaughlin; and a brother Linford Jones.

She is survived by three sons–William McLaughlin and his wife Bertie of North East, Dale McLaughlin and his wife Fawn of Pleasantville, and Garry McLaughlin and his wife Dawn of Edinboro; her brother Clare Humes and wife Nancy, and sister Dorothy Kozuchowsky, all of Union City; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved.

Friends may call at Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 335 Venango Avenue, Cambridge Springs on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and may attend funeral services there on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Rob Willert will officiate. Burial will follow in Mill Village Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Mill Village Fire Department or to Mill Village Presbyterian Church.
