Robert John Osterberg, age 83, of Cranesville, passed away Sunday night, May 3, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on the 4th month, 4th day of 1932 in McKean, he was a son of the late Arthur and Eva Soety Osterberg. He married Joyce Zaunegger on June 6, 1953, and she survives mourning his loss.

Osterberg, Robert JohnOther family members include daughter Barbara Woodward and husband John of Venango, their four children: Roberta Sheppard and her children Tyler, Kaitlyn and Kyle, all of Venango, William Woodward and wife Jen of Conneautville, John Woodward Jr. of Venango, and Matthew Woodward and wife Andrea and their children Sara and Brian, all of Parma, OH; also, daughter Patti Pavolko and her husband Dennis and their children: Leslie Pavolko, and Paul Pavolko and wife Abby, her son Wesson, and their first child expected in July, all of Albion.

Robert has two brothers, Art Osterberg of Saegertown, and Don Osterberg and wife Pat of McKean; a sister, Autumn Little of McKean; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and William Osterberg, and two sisters, June Kuntz and Audrey Pursell.

Bob was a 32nd Degree Mason. He enjoyed working in his workshop and garden, and sitting by a fire with his family. He was employed at Erie Forge and Steel for 17 years before he started his own construction business in 1968. He has been retired since 1994.

Friends may call at Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 306 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and may attend funeral services there Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery.
