Rachel Hitchcock Rogerson of Waterford, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 8, 2015 at UPMC Hamot. She was born on October 10, 1927 in Lander, PA to Willard and Edith Morrison Hitchcock.
Rachel loved life. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, knitting, crocheting, and painting, but most of all she loved her family. At the young age of 83 she was still playing on the floor with her great-grandchildren. For many years, Rachel was employed at the former Elgin Electronics in Waterford.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 32 years, Myron Rogerson, her second husband of 15 years, Delbert Lockwood, a brother, Ford Hitchcock, and a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Gordon Johnson.
Survivors include her daughter Cathy (Ron) Jagta of Waterford, son Myron (Patti) Rogerson of Harborcreek, son Willard (Kathy) Rogerson of Sheffield, PA, nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, three brothers, Belmer (Ellen) Hitchcock, Roy (Sharon) Hitchcock, and Stanley Hitchcock, a sister-in-law, Bea Strickland, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and may attend funeral services there on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Gary Donaldson of Asbury United Methodist Church in Waterford will officiate. Burial will follow in Waterford Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to any charity of choice.

I’am sorry to learn of your mother’s passing. She was a wonderful lady that lived a full life & raised three wonderful children.
