Harold G. Hart, age 83, of Edinboro and Cochranton, died Tuesday, June 2, 2015 after a short illness. Born in Cochranton, PA on November 15, 1931, he was a son of the late Victor and Evelyn Neff Hart.
Harold lived most of his life in Cochranton and Blooming Valley, and worked for over 30 years at Meadville Forge, retiring in 1994. He then lived in Florida for many years before relocating back to this area, and most recently living in Edinboro. Harold was active socially and enjoyed belonging to many clubs and organizations– Goldwing Road Riders Association, Independent Order of Odd Fellows #902, the Masonic Lodge and Zem Zem Shriners, and the Elks and Eagles Clubs. He was a longtime bowler and horseshoe player who enjoyed playing in local leagues, and as a committed blood donor, he was a top donor in Crawford County, giving over 33 gallons.
Harold was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie McGowan Hart, his second wife, Virginia Captain Hart, and a great-grandson, Jack Walker Fallon.
Surviving family members include three children– Richard Hart and his wife Lee of Blooming Valley, Randy Hart and his wife Loria of Edinboro, and Robin Green of Edinboro; six grandchildren– David Hart, Tom Hart (Stephanie), Taiya Fallon (Kevin), Carly Quiggle (Dan), Kelly Green and Michael Green; four great-grandchildren– Brooke and Brandon Hart, and Shaffer and Isley Fallon; also, a brother, Guy Hart and wife Linda of New Mexico, a sister, Virginia Docter and husband John of Cambridge Springs, and three step-children– Charlotte Welch and Joni Welch of Largo, FL, and John Welch and wife Trish of Tucson, AZ.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours at Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 306 Erie Street, Edinboro on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Cochranton Cemetery.
