Cynthia Richards Cutri of Waterford, age 77, died at home on Sunday, July 26th, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Cutri, Cynthia RichardsCindy was born in Van Wert, Ohio on September 20, 1937 to Fred ????ud???? Richards and Mary Ellen ????imi???? (Bonnewitz) Richards. She met her husband of 58 years, Edward Cutri, at Allegheny College, and after many adventures in Florida and Ohio, the two eventually settled in the Erie area. Cindy was loving mother to Anne Cutri, Randall Cutri, Christopher Cutri, Stephen Cutri, and Laura Cutri Bannon, whose early shenanigans were described in ????rom My Corner????, a column Cindy wrote for this paper for 17 years. In addition to her achievements as a Features Editor and Writer for the Erie Times, Cindy was an accomplished soft sculpture doll and textile artist, bridge player, and library volunteer. She approached her retirement pursuits with the same warmth and sense of humor she displayed in all areas of her life. A hobby pianist, she had great chords, just like her mother. Cindy was love personified and had a positive and caring spirit that infected everyone around her.

Cindy is survived by her husband, five children, nine grandchildren (of whom she was particularly proud), and a sister, Sarah Rajan, as well as many friends.

There will be a gathering in her memory at Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford on Friday, August 7th starting at 3:00 p.m., with a service lead by the family at approximately 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Waterford Public Library.
