Marjorie Taylor Morford passed away on August 27, 2015 in Erie, PA. She was born on June 6, 1936 in Sharon, PA, the youngest child of the late Hazel Clark Taylor and Alfred Taylor. She was preceded in death by her sister Lena Preston and her brothers Donald Taylor and Fred Taylor.
Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Marjorie leaves behind her husband Myron Morford, her daughter Elaine Morford Carver with husband Thomas Carver, her son Gerald Morford with wife Lorri Ann Morford, and her grandchildren Chelsea Carver, Jonathan Morford and Joshua Morford.
Marjorie graduated from Brookfield High School in 1954, from Kent State University with a B.S. in Elem. Ed. In 1957, and from Edinboro State College with a Masters in Elem. Ed. And a Reading Specialist Certificate in 1974. She married Myron Morford January 24, 1958, and together they spent their years living in Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania. A skilled teacher, Marjorie taught school in Brookfield OH, Greenville PA, Andover OH and Edinboro PA before joining the Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit and teaching at St John the Evangelist in Girard PA and Our Lady of Mt Carmel in Millcreek PA until her retirement in 1995. After retirement, Marjorie and Myron enjoyed living in Edinboro PA on Edinboro Lake and in Lexington KY until moving to Springhill retirement community in Erie PA in 2011. Marjorie enjoyed playing piano, singing, games and puzzles, golfing and reading.
The celebration of Marjorie’s life will be Sunday, September 6 at the Edinboro United Methodist Church with visitation from 3:00-4:00 p.m., a celebration service at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Lisa Grant presiding, and dinner following. Final interment will be at the Morford family plot in Kinsman, OH.
