Iva Marie Baughman Donnell passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015. She was born March 8, 1940 to Warren and Helen Baughman. She was married to Delbert (Deb) Donnell on June 26, 1965, and he survives along with her sister, Linda (Baughman) McCall. Iva was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Warren Baughman Jr.
Iva spent her life loving those around her. When she was still just a girl, she became a caregiver to her younger siblings, Linda and Warren, when her mother became ill. And although she had no children of her own, she continued caring for others throughout her life. She was more than just a babysitter to more than two generations of kids throughout Waterford. Whose kids didn’t get watched by Iva at some point in time? Way more people than just her family called her “Aunt Iva” with love. She loved all her nieces and her nephew as her own, and the love she showed them came back to her tenfold. You could always find Iva in the stands at Fort LeBoeuf cheering on all her kids.
Iva was a homemaker and the best cook around! Holidays, picnics and parties were always made better with casseroles, salads and dessert from Iva’s kitchen. Except for that one time — diabetic pumpkin roll at Thanksgiving. Hey, even the best cooks can have a bad idea once in a while.
Deb and Iva were blessed to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in June with over 100 in attendance. Surrounded by friends and family is how she would like to be remembered.
The family wants to thank all special friends and family of Iva who helped to make her finals days comfortable.
