Norman G. Porter, age 90, lifelong resident of LeBoeuf Township, died Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Homestead Hearth, Centerville, PA. He was born October 9, 1924 to the late George and Ruth Rowland Porter.
Norman graduated from Waterford Academy and spent the rest of his life as a dedicated farmer on the original Porter farm in LeBoeuf Township. He was a devoted Christian and a member of Mill Village United Methodist Church. Norman will be remembered as being a generous man who willingly gave to his family and to Christian organizations.
In addition to his parents, Norman had a brother who predeceased him, Donald Porter. His remaining family includes his siblings– Gene Burger and her husband Karl of Titusville, Delbert Porter and his wife Dora of Union City, and Nelson Porter and his wife Evelyn of Cambridge Springs; also, many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and may attend funeral services there on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Bryon Switala of Mill Village Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mill Village Cemetery.
