James J. Jankowiak, age 76, of LeBoeuf Township, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Edinboro Manor. Born October 12, 1939, James was a son of the late Walter and Sophie Dlugolenski Jankowiak.

Jim grew up in McKean and graduated from the McKean Joint High School. For most of his life, he enjoyed being a self-employed truck driver, his greatest passion. He enjoyed the companionship of his dog, Veiner, who accompanied him almost everywhere he went. During his travels he made many friends in many states.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Lewis Corklin Jankowiak. He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Ethridge (Bill Pifer) of Cambridge Springs, his son, James J. Jankowiak Jr. (wife, Pamela) of Waterford; three grandchildren, Justin Ethridge (wife, Alison), Lindsay Ethridge (Joel Grignol), and Jozef Jankowiak, and three great-grandchildren; his good friend, Carol Hall; his step-children, Janet Dodd (husband, Terry) of Titusville, and John Corklin of Texas; and his brother Walter Jankowiak (wife, Jessie) of McKean.

Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, McKean.
