Edward Frank Simcheck, age 89, of Greytown Road, Cambridge Springs, PA, passed away peacefully at Wesbury United Methodist Community, Meadville, PA on Thursday, February 11, 2016 after a long illness. Born in Mercer on January 2, 1927, he was the son of the late Frank Simcheck and Catherine Yusavage Simcheck. He married the former Sylvia M. Winnale on September 19, 1970 and she survives.

Simcheck, Edward048????? Ed was a dairy farmer operating his own farm in Rockdale Township since the early 1950’s. He spent several years in Phoenix, AZ in the 1960’s as a trail guide and as a mentor for young men. He enjoyed playing baseball in younger years and followed professional baseball and football.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter- Evie Simcheck. Surviving Ed, in addition to his wife Sylvia, is a daughter- Carol F. Simcheck of Venice, FL; a son- Frank Simcheck of Gillette, WY; a daughter- Amy Lynn Simcheck at home; two grandsons- Colten Simcheck, stationed with the U.S. Army, and Austin Simcheck of Wyoming; two brothers- George Simcheck and his wife Eileen, and Robert Simcheck and his wife Theresa, all of Cambridge Springs; two sisters- Elizabeth Blakeslee and her husband Donald of Findley Lake, NY, and Shirley Simcheck of Cambridge Springs.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, February 16th from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs. Interment will follow at Venango Cemetery.
