Joseph C. Kulesa, age 94, resident of Waterford, PA, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016 at St. Mary’s of Erie, East. Born on March 24, 1922 in Waterford, PA, Joseph was a son of the late Wladyslaw Kulesa and Julianne Roamski Kulesa. He married? the former Elizabeth Northrop-Edwards on January 29, 1972 and she preceded him in death on April 19, 2006.

Kulesa, Joseph001???? A veteran, Joseph served in the US Army during World War II. Joseph worked on his family’s farm, and at the Chevrolet dealership and at E. L. Heard and Son, both in Waterford. In addition, Joseph was an equipment operator at various construction companies, retiring in 1987.? Joseph was a member of All Saints Church, Waterford, the Waterford American Legion Post #285, and the Operating Engineers Local #66. His varied interests included farming, gardening, tinkering, and riding his 4-wheeler to the woods.

Surviving Joseph is a son – Melvin Edwards (Beverly); two daughters – Connie Miller (Larry Geer) and Sandy Burek; nieces – Sandy Etter, Linda Etter, Debbie Malinowski (Dave), Julie Bramuka; Leona Rivera (Will), Barbara Fay (Kenneth Jr.), Caroline Wiler (Floyd); nephews – John (JoAnn) Soukup, Eugene Etter, Edward Kulesa and Jimmy Kulesa. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford on Monday, March 28th from 5-8 p.m. Prayer services will begin at the funeral home Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Gregory Passauer, pastor of the Church as celebrant. Interment will be in Riceville Cemetery, Crawford County.
