Jeff Lowers of Waterford died of cancer Monday afternoon, March 28, 2016. Although he was only 60 years old, he lived those years “his way.”

Lowers, Jeff001? After graduation from Seneca High School, he chose, for most of his life, to work outdoors–farming and then, for a number of years, caretaker of the grounds and equipment of the Waterford Cemetery. Next, he became self-employed, doing landscaping, lawn mowing, indoor-outdoor painting, light home repair, and other handy-man jobs. There was hardly anything he couldn’t fix.

For over 30 years he lived with Mr. Robert Anderson of Waterford, as caregiver and best friend, maintaining the home and property and tending to the needs that enabled Mr. Anderson to live independently in his own home until his death in 2012.

Jeff is survived by his father, Mr. Jack F. Lowers and family. Jeff will be best remembered for his kindness as a long-time volunteer at the food pantry, his quick response to any call for his help, and a love for animals, befriending any that came his way. He gave his loyalty and best effort to his customers and was a hard worker, skillful and knowledgeable in the many areas of his services.

He liked gardening, growing both flowers and vegetables, fishing in season, and a game of chess in leisure time. Most of all, he loved people, was quick to laugh, and was dependable for a helping hand.

He was well know and well liked in the community. He will be missed.

Friends are invited to a graveside service at Waterford Cemetery on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Gary Donaldson will officiate. Memorial donations may be given to the Waterford Food Pantry.
