Mildred Irene Casper, age 74, passed away peacefully at her home, 30842 Brown Hill Road, Cambridge Springs on Sunday morning, May 15, 2016 under the care of two of her sons and their wives. Born on August 22, 1941 in Meadville, PA, Mildred was a daughter of the late Harland B. Wise and Dorothy Irene Shearer Wise.

Casper, Mildred002Mildred attended Cambridge Springs High School and had worked for SMC in Saegertown as a machinist for over 10 years. She then worked at Giant Eagle in Edinboro until her retirement in 2003. Mildred attended First Baptist Church in Cambridge Springs and enjoyed playing games and spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving Mildred are three sons – Richard Casper and his wife, Patricia of Cambridge Springs; Jim Casper and his wife, Sandy of Cherry Tree, PA; and Tom Casper and his wife, Terry of Cambridge Springs; six grandchildren – Amanda Casper, David Casper, Joe Casper, Alan Casper, Mark Casper, and Portia Casper; four step grandchildren – Brandy Lonyo, Destiny Faiver, Annie Faiver, and Morgan Grinpas; and five great grandchildren – Preston Williams, Mason Terwilliger, David Casper, Lexi Casper, and Jayden Casper. Mildred is also survived by a sister -Valerie Newell of Cambridge Springs; a brother – David Wise and his wife, Janet of Cambridge Springs and a niece – Sarah Pawloski and her husband, Gabe and their chidren – Isabella and Elijah. She was preceded in addition to her parents by a brother – Harland R. “Sonny” Wise who died on April 23, 2002 and a niece – Jennifer Newell who died on April 25, 2015.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Wednesday, May18th from 2-4 and 6-8 and to attend funeral services there on Thursday at 10 am. Reverend Rod Beardsley, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Cambridge Springs, will officiate. Interment will take place in Mitchell Cemetery.
