Marjorie Willey Fields died May 16, 2016 as she wished, with dignity and in the comfort of her home. She was born in Cambridge Springs, PA in June of 1920 and was the eldest child of Allen R. and Corrine (Hollis) Willey.

Marjorie graduated from Bloomfield High School and then from Erie Business School. She met and married Arlo C. “A.C.” Fields (WWII veteran) and during the war, she worked as a ticket clerk at the Greyhound Bus Station in downtown Erie, PA. After WWII, Marjorie and Arlo eventually moved to Portsmouth, VA where she lived for a little over 60 years. She worked at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and retired after 30 years. Marjorie eventually returned to Pennsylvania where she lived out her life with her granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Arlo C. “A.C.” Fields and one sister, Gevene W. Bennett.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Fields Hughes (Doug) and a grandson, Allen C. Rogers and his girlfriend Julie Dixon, all of Virginia; sister, Dorothy W. Bemis of Ohio, brother, Grant R. Willey (Connie), granddaughter Jennifer Talbot Good (Ronald), two great-grandchildren, Christopher A. and Tiffani M. Good, and a great-great-grandchild, Shawn M. Good, all of Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.

Marjorie’s family would like to thank Dawnell “DL” K. from Helpmates, and the Great Lakes Hospice Team of Erie for all their help, support, and understanding which incorporated the family as well as Marjorie.

Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
