Sadie W. Morvay, age 87, of Waterford, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. Born in Hatch Hollow, Amity Township on October 25, 1928, she was one of four children of the late Michael Morvay and Sabina Zilak Morvay.

Morvay, Sadie001?? Sadie loved the Lord Jesus Christ and served Him for many years in many different places. She graduated from Bob Jones University in South Carolina in 1950 and then worked in Erie at the City Mission from 1950 – 1955, and at Bethel Baptist Church until 1956. For the next ten years, Sadie lived in St. Louis, MO, Houston, TX where she worked at Baylor University, and Detroit, MI where she worked at Ford Hospital. She returned in 1966 to the family homestead in Hatch Hollow and began employment as a secretary to Dr. George J. D’Angelo until her retirement in 1992.

Sadie moved to Waterford in 1995 and lived with her dear sister, Mary Ann. Together, they were blessed to share many memories, including their extensive travels across the world and to 49 U.S. states. Sadie was a faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church in Waterford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Morvay, and a special Uncle, Paul Morvay.

Surviving family members include her sister, Mary Ann Morvay of Waterford; a brother, Paul Morvay and his wife Claudia and their children Daniel, Stephen, and Rebekah; a sister-in-law, Barbara Morvay and her children Deborah Kaye and Mike; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to visiting hours and funeral services which will take place at Harmony Baptist Church, 2067 Old Wattsburg Road, Waterford, PA on Sunday from 4:00 until time of the funeral at 7:00 p.m. Officiating for the funeral service are pastors Gary Darnell and Paul Daku Jr. The committal service and burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery, Amity Township on Monday morning at 11:00 a.m.

Memorial donations in Sadie’s memory may be made to Harmony Baptist Church.
