Chuck served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was known as the “pinochle champ” of the U.S.S. Rochester. A hard working man, Chuck was skilled as an electrician operating his own business, Merry Electric, and was able to volunteer as an electrician for Habitat for Humanity in Erie.

He was a longtime member of All Saints Parish in Waterford and was instrumental in the merging of the two churches that formed All Saints Parish, serving on the Building Committee and the Finance Committee. At church, he enjoyed helping with the fish fries, singing, and he also served as a Eucharistic Minister, both at All Saints Parish and Hamot Hospital.

Chuck and his wife Fran raised six children and over the years made many memories together. He enjoyed playing softball and volleyball with his kids, going camping with his family, and he liked to swim, feed and watch the birds in his backyard, go polka dancing with his wife, and pick apples, grapes, and peaches, all to be shared with his children. Charles was the eternal optimist who will be missed by his family.
