Fannie (Fran) Mae (Miller) Coblentz Collen, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at her home on State Highway #8, Centerville, PA surrounded by her family. Born on January 12, 1937 in Belleville, PA, Fran was a daughter of the late Andrew M. and Mary L. Yoder Miller. On July 17, 1990 she married Charles Collen and he preceded her in death on July 3, 2001.

Collen, FranFran’s morning menu always included reading her Bible while enjoying a fresh cup of coffee.?It soothed her soul to bake delicious cookies and pies for her children. Her love of flowers and birds gave her great joy over the years, a joy she then passed on to the next generation.

Preceding Fran in addition to her parents and husband, Charles Collen, was a sister and brother-in-law: Barbara and Melvin Coblentz; and a brother-in-law: Walter Sommers. Surviving Fran are five children – Wilma (Tim) Christner of Fairfield, MT; Andrew (Melinda) Coblentz of Pleasant City, OH; Sadie Grable of Marlboro, OH; Sylvia (Rance) Wallace of Carnesville, GA; and Mark (Linda) Coblentz of Centerville with whom she made her home. Fran is also survived by her children’s father – Leroy Coblentz of Senecaville, Oh with whom she maintained a close friendship; a sister – Betty Sommers of Hadley, PA; twenty one grandchildren, thirty two great-grandchildren and?two expected great grandchildren; numerous step children, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren. Also surviving are Fran’s late husband Charles Collen’s family; cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends including her close friend and neighbor – Diane Polansky and life-long friend – Joanne Price.

Fran’s newest circle of friends include the staff from VNA Alliance and the Titusville Branch of Hospice of Crawford County, especially – Stacy, Cindy, Kate and Shelby whose care and compassion is deeply appreciated by the family.

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service?conducted by Fran’s grandson, Jesse Christner, on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Mitchell Cemetery in Cambridge Township.
