Steve Lemock, age 44, of Waterford Township, fought a 3-year battle with brain cancer and passed away peacefully on Monday, August 29, 2016 in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side. Steve is the son of Elmer and LeAnne McLaughlin Lemock, born in Erie on May 12, 1972.

Lemock, Steve001Steve was dearly loved by his wife Julie, and was a wonderful father to his children Jeffrey, Maggie and Olivia. He was grateful for his many friends, including a group of guys that he met years ago when working at Modern Industries in Erie from 1994 to 2005. Steve worked at General Electric from 2005 until the present.

Many of the pleasures Steve enjoyed in life were shared with his family and friends. He was a faithful fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR, and was able to attend many NASCAR races. He liked to go camping, bowling, and hunting, and he enjoyed caring for his yard at his home.

Steve’s family includes his wife, Julie Renee Gibbons Lemock; his son, Jeffrey Lemock, and daughters, Maggie and Olivia Lemock; his parents, Elmer and LeAnne Lemock; and his sister, Kelli Hermann and husband John. He is also survived by his father- and mother-in-law, Ronald and Jeanine Gibbons; brother-in-law, Dan Gibbons; sisters-in-law, Jennifer Mifsud and husband Ed, and Tracie Gaston and husband Erik; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and a cousin, Nicole Ann Radosevic.

Friends are invited to visiting hours at Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday morning at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in McKean starting at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral mass following at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Mark Nowak. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
