Betty Jean Beerbower, age 88, resident of Quality Living Center and Crawford County Care Center in Saegertown since 1960, passed away there on Sunday, December 25, 2016. Born on July 2, 1928 in Crawford County, Betty was a daughter of the late Charles Beerbower and Bernice Walters Beerbower.
She enjoyed the many activities that the County Home offered, making crafts, sewing and embroidery. Her special skill was making dolls which she entered in the Crawford County Fair and from whom she received many ribbons.
Surviving Betty are two siblings, her sister – Violet Knapp of Saegertown and her brother – Harold Beerbower and his wife, Jean of Meadville. Also several nieces and nephews survive. Predeceasing Betty were eight siblings – Alberta McCartney, Paul Beerbower, George (Dick) Beerbower, Margaret (Peg) Proudfoot, Charles (Bob) Beerbower, Carol Beerbower, Lloyd Beerbower, and Ralph Beerbower.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Wednesday, December 28th from 11:00 until 12:00 noon at which time a funeral service will begin. Reverend Rod Beardsley, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Cambridge Springs, will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Drakes Mills.
Memorials may be given to a charity of one’s choice.
